UPDATED: Peter Dinklage is the newest member of X-Men: Days of Future Past…as the main villain!

UPDATE: Well he’s not going to be Puck. Variety is reporting that Peter Dinklage will be the main antagonist for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST although it is not said who that villain may be. Thoughts? Speculations?

ORIGINAL: While there has been a lot of speculation and rumors to what mutants will be returning for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, there hasn’t been a lot of information on what new characters we might see. Director Bryan Singer has been busy this week talking about his mega mutant mash-up and it continues today with his tweet that the always awesome Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones has joined the cast.

It has not been released who Dinklage may be playing, but based on comments and responses to the tweet the consensus is he may be playing Puck.

Who the f*ck is Puck you ask? Here is the character origins from Comic Vine:

“Born in the early 1900’s, Eugene Milton Judd, or just “Judd” to his friends, was a soldier of fortune who traveled the world, having adventures. On one of these early adventures, he attempted to attain the ‘Black Blade of Raazer”, a mystical blade which, unbeknownst to Judd, contained the spirit of an evil being named Raazer. Upon accidentally releasing Raazer, Judd found the only way to defeat him was to absorb the spirit of Raazer into his body. This had the effect of changing the seven-foot Judd into a 3’6″ dwarf, although he retained the full strength and agility of the formerly giant bullfighter and athlete; the demon’s presence also stopped him from aging. Containing the evil being also caused Judd great pain on a constant basis.”

Puck has primarily worked with the Canadian based superhero team Alpha Flight but has recently joined the X-Force in the comics. If Peter Dinklage IS Puck, could that mean we might be getting more characters from X-Force and Alpha Flight? And could it open the door for an Alpha Flight or X-Force movie?
