Deadline has reported that Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson is set to star in The Home, a new horror thriller from The Purge creator James DeMonaco. Pete Davidson has been branching out of his comfort zone with his recent projects and The Home seems to be the latest example of that.

The Home will find Pete Davidson starring as Max, “a troubled man who starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.” In addition to directing The Home, James DeMonaco will also co-write the script with Adam Canto. In a statement, producer Bill Block said:

We’re excited to be backing DeMonaco’s brilliant vision. James’s The Purge horror franchise has grossed over $450M at the worldwide box office. With his masterful storytelling abilities and Pete’s versatility as an actor, this film will put audiences everywhere on the edge of their seats.

Production on The Home is expected to begin later this month. Pete Davidson was recently seen in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad as Blackguard. The Home also won’t be Pete Davidson’s first horror film as he will star alongside Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Lee Pace, and Rachel Sennott in Halina Reijn’s Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. Davidson will also star alongside Kaley Cuoco in Meet Cute, a romantic comedy that follows a woman who discovers a time machine in a nail salon and uses it to fix elements of her new boyfriend.
