It won't be long now before people who suffer from coulrophobia (a fear of clowns) will face their crippling anxiety head-on for the sake of what I hear is an excellent horror film. Today, we've got a brand-new TV spot to share with you, of which is bound to make you weary of dilapidated housing, sewer grates, and balloons as well.
Check it out:
Directed by Andrés Muschietti, the remake of Stephen King's IT stars Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the Clown, an ancient and malevolent evil that terrorizes the township of Derry, Maine, one hellish child abduction at a time. Appearing alongside Skarsgard, the film features an ensemble cast of young actors including Jaeden Lieberher (MIDNIGHT SPECIAL), Jeremy Ray Taylor (ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: ROAD CHIP), Sophia Lillis (37), Finn Wolfhard (TV's STANGER THINGS), Wyatt Oleff (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY), Chosen Jacobs (COPS AND ROBBERS), Jack Dylan Grazer (TALES OF HALLOWEEN) and Nicholas Hamilton (CAPTAIN FANTASTIC).
Holy hell! Every piece of footage I see of this film makes me want to watch it more and more. I used to have a fairly severe case of coulrophobia, but have since managed to get it under control through years of facing the fear directly. Don't get me wrong, I still hate clowns. For me, nothing is supposed to be that happy all of the time, it's just not natural, man. Demons, every last one of em. Okay, so maybe I'm not over my fear, after all.
IT will float into theaters beginning on September 8th, 2017.
