Peep the head-trip of a teaser for Shane Carruths Upstream Color

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So, did you all see the frustratingly intriguing sci-fi minder PRIMER that came out in 2004? Well, the madman behind that sumbitch is back with his newest head-f*ck, UPSTREAM COLOR. Yeah, don’t know what the hell the title means either, but at least the fresh teaser trailer we have for the flick below mirrors such ambiguity. Give it a spin and let us know how it sits!

From writer/director Shane Carruth – UPSTREAM COLOR fades in when:

A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.

More opacity, but interesting nonetheless. As you’ll see in the video, homey’s head is made of the same material as the sun. Again, I’m not sure if this is the confounding confused for the profound, or if it’s a legitimately solid piece of work (same with PRIMER). At least this Carruth dude is trying something different, can never fault a filmmaker for that these days.

UPSTREAM COLOR is set to hit this coming March.
