Peacock to develop TV adaptation of short film Skywatch with Seth MacFarlane

Former Pixar artist Colin Levy's dystopian sci-fi short film Skywatch is being adapted for TV thanks to Peacock, with UPC and Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door producing. UPC and Peacock recently landed the rights to the short, which they'll use to pitch the series.

The short, which features a brief appearance by Jude Law, revolves around a teen with impressive computer skills, who hacks into a ubiquitous drone delivery system to play a prank on a school bully. He accidentally crashes a dangerous prototype and finds himself entangled in a life-and-death conspiracy.

Levy's project began as a 10-minute short film and is the product of six years' worth of work and one very successful Kickstarter campaign. Levy, whose work includes being a layout artist for such films as INSIDE OUT, THE GOOD DINOSAUR, and FINDING DORY co-wrote Skywatch alongside one of his fellow Pixar storytellers, Mike Sundy. Levy had posted the Skyward short to YouTube in December where the film has since racked up 1.4 million views.

Levy will direct Skywatch, and will write and executive produce with Mike Sundy. Additionally, MacFarlane, Fuzzy Door's Erica Huggins, Andre Danylevich of Lightning Hill Pictures, and Jon Huddle and Russell Hollander for Fourth Wall Management will also executive produce.
