The Kurt Russell-starring thriller BONE TOMAHAWK has just added a couple of new faces as Deadline is reporting that both THE CONJURING’s Patrick Wilson (above) and Matthew Fox (below) have joined the cast alongside Russell and Richard Jenkins. That’s a hell of a cast, especially considering the fact that they could have simply stopped at Kurt Russell.
The brutal tale of four men attempting to rescue a group of captives from a band of cannibals who live on the edge of civilization will see Wilson star as Arthur O’Dwyer, a thoughtful cowboy whose rise to the foreman position of a cattle outfit is interrupted by an unfortunate accident that reshapes his life in unforeseen ways. Fox has the role of John Brooder, an eloquent gentleman whose whose dark inclinations have put him and his polished weapons at the very edge of the western frontier.
BONE TOMAHAWK follows an outlaw who unknowingly leads a band of cannibalistic Troglodytes into the peaceful western town of Bright Hope. When the monsters kidnap several settlers, including a rancher’s wife, a small rescue party consisting of the injured rancher, the sheriff, his aging deputy and a strong-willed gunslinger, journey into hell to try and rescue them. They soon find themselves in dark unknown territories where savage inbreeds armed with the ultimate weapon leave no hope of survival.
S. Craig Zahler wrote and is making his directorial debut with BONE TOMAHAWK, with Caliber’s Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller producing.
