Patrick Stewart is a piece of shit in The Emoji Movie

Ah, Sir Patrick Stewart! One of the world’s most adored and venerated actors, renowned for his work of the stage as Macbeth, the small screen as the noble Jean Luc Picard in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, and in the cinema as the wise and powerful Professor X in the X-Men franchise. But the acting world is not so easily conquered, and in order to make it to the top you have to bare your soul, and in order to do that you may have to take a role that makes you look like a giant piece of shit.

Stewart is smart enough to know this, that’s why he is doing that as literally as he can with his newest role as a walking piece of poo in the upcoming motion picture, THE EMOJI MOVIE. This will be the actor’s toughest challenge yet, as we all know getting into the mindset of even the gentlest poo is no easy feat.

Joining the distinguished legend on this quest for truth and expression is SNL alum Maya Rudolph who has been cast as Smiler, as well as Jennifer Coolidge as Mary Meh and Jake T. Austin Alex. Ensemble, unite!

Look, I know the comedic irony around the notion of an esteemed English actor voicing a piece of poo in a bow tie is a little too high-brow for most people to understand, but trust me, with this casting we're in for some nutty fun. Seriously, though, opinions on the movie aside this is great news, not just for the film, but Stewart fans everywhere. Now you can add poo puns to all of the actors work, bringing you potential hours of joy.  Here, I’ll get you started: Captain Poocard, Professor Xcrement and, of course, Macshit.

THE EMOJI MOVIE is coming to theaters, still, on August 4 with T.J. Miller, James Corden, Ilana Glazer, Steven Wright and the aforementioned Captain Poocard.
