Paramount+ with Showtime will launch in the U.S. next month

After announcing their plans to merge the Paramount and Showtime streaming services earlier this year, Paramount Global has announced just when Paramount+ With Showtime will launch in the U.S.

The newly combined streaming service will launch in the U.S. on June 27th, but it will cost you a few extra dollars. Paramount+ used to cost you $9.99 per month, but Paramount+ With Showtime will see the price bump up to $11.99 per month. Paramount+ without Showtime will cost you $5.99 per month. The standalone Showtime streaming app will be shut down by the end of the year.

This summer, Paramount+ will officially become the streaming home for Showtime, further advancing our lead in being the total household service,” said Tom Ryan, president and CEO of Paramount Streaming. “By integrating the Showtime premium and critically acclaimed portfolio with the service’s already broad and popular slate, all at a competitive price, we will solidify Paramount+ as a cornerstone in streaming.” The merger is one of several in the streaming world, with Warner Bros. Discovery launching Max (combining HBO Max and Discovery+) tomorrow and Disney planning to integrate Disney+ and Hulu later in the year.

With Paramount+ With Showtime, subscribers will have access to both libraries, including Yellowstone: 1923, Tulsa King, Star Trek, Top Gun, Scream, and much more on Paramount, as well as Dexter, Yellowjackets, Billions, and more on Showtime.

From ‘Yellowjackets’ to ‘Your Honor,’ Showtime is home to big, premium, sophisticated series which will now be complemented with broad, blockbuster originals and movies in the alignment of Paramount+ With Showtime,” said Chris McCarthy, president and CEO, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios & Paramount Media Networks. “Together, Paramount+ with Showtime will provide our consumers a much more rewarding experience with our vast set of unique originals and deep library of iconic shows and hit films.

With the Paramount+ With Showtime launch just a month away, will you be subscribing to the new streaming service? Or does the price increase make it not worth your money?
