Paramount scares up a 2021 release date for the next Paranormal Activity

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Paramount has scared up another post-Halloween treat by announcing the release date for the seventh film in the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise.

The newest chapter of the spooktacular series is now set for a March 19, 2021 release, marking a grand return for the series since PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: GHOST DIMENSION apparated into theaters in 2015. As you're likely to recall, the first installment of the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY series was made using a micro-budget of just $15,000, an amount that most horror films nowadays would balk at. The 2007 smash hit went on to gross $193.3 million at the worldwide box office, making the found footage frightfest written and directed by Oren Peli one of the most talked about spectacles in the genre for years to come.

Many sequels to Peli's original were later introduced, though the latest film in the franchise, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: GHOST DIMENSION, had only earned a $78.9 million global gross at the time of its release. The series appeared to be busted after Ghost Dimension under-performed, though it's now obvious that Paramount is ready to give the fan-favorite horror brand another go.

Are you ready and willing to return to the Paranormal Activity franchise, or has time away from the series resulted in you giving this news a big old "Meh?" Let us know in the comments section below.

Paramount's next film in the Paranormal Activity franchise will arrive in theaters on March 19, 2021.
