If you're looking forward to Christopher McQuarrie's take on the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise, then I have some good news for you! Paramount has just bumped up the release date a full five months from Christmas Day of this year to July 31, 2015.
In the end, this is definitely a smart move as it gets the picture out before MGM's Bond flick, SPECTRE, which hits in November. This also ensures it's safety from STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – THE FORCE AWAKENS, which will undoubtedly dominate the box office in December. The only films MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5 is up against July 31st is the POINT BREAK remake and SOUTHPAW, which definitely seems like the safer bet. Either way, the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE films have proved to be some great popcorn entertainment and I can't wait to see what McQuarrie delivers with this latest installment come July 31st!
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5 will now open on July 31, 2015.
And now I'm pumped!
