Paramount drops release dates for G.I. Joe, Dungeons & Dragons, and more

Paramount has been looking to expand their Hasbro Cinematic Universe for quite some time, and it seems that they're now confident enough to claim a handful of dates for the upcoming films. The studio has announced release dates for the following four Paramount/Hasbro event films, including:

G.I. JOE – March 27, 2020

MICRONAUTS – October 16, 2020

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS – July 23, 2021

Untitled Paramount/Hasbro film – October 1, 2021

I wish I could muster up a little enthusiasm for these films, but I just can't at the moment, although, knowing that Paramount/Hasbro has plans for these films to occupy a shared universe, with the exception of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, does tickle my curiosity somewhat. We don't know all that much about these projects just yet, but earlier this year Hasbro executives Simon Waters and Steve Davis spoke about the future of their various properties, including a rebooted G.I. JOE franchise with a "revamped look intended to appeal to younger audiences," which Waters described as "a more millennial approach."

The world has changed, and I think you’re going to see G.I. Joe changing with it. There’s going to be a much more contemporary approach to the whole franchise, and that will allow us to develop different characters.

Steve Davis added that they "hope to create a head snap. It’s a different kind of ‘Joe’ — one that still resonates with ‘Joe’ fans but brings in an uninitiated audience and expands the audience internationally and domestically." What about you? Do any of these upcoming projects strike your fancy? Also, any guesses as to what the untitled mystery film will be? ROM? M.A.S.K.? Visionaries?
