The pieces for the upcoming WONDER WOMAN movie are continuing to come together. Last week it was made official that TV director Michelle MacLaren would develop and helm the feature that is set to star Gal Gadot. Now reports suggest Warner Bros. is in negotiations with Jason Fuchs to pen the screenplay. He wrote ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT and more recently the upcoming PAN directed by Joe Wright which the writer is also already working on a sequel for.
MacLaren will work with Fuchs on the drafts of the screenplay, which sounds like a great idea if you ask me. Great talent working together to develop a singular vision might be what this project needs to work. Gal Gadot will appear as Wonder Woman in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, and then she is off to her solo movie which, if rumors are true, will be an origin story that takes place in the 1920s.
While we still have no confirmation on what direction the film will take, it's nice to see they’re working hard to make sure it's done right. What are you hoping to see in the solo WONDER WOMAN movie?
WONDER WOMAN is scheduled for release on June 23, 2017.
