Last month, the Netflix streaming service expanded the franchise that began with Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim (watch it HERE) and continued with Steven S. DeKnight's Pacific Rim: Uprising (watch that one HERE) by releasing an anime show called Pacific Rim: The Black. All seven episodes of Pacific Rim: The Black's first season have been available to watch on Netflix since March 4th, and now it has been confirmed that a second season is on the way.
A release date for season 2 has not been revealed.
From Legendary Entertainment, Polygon Pictures, and showrunners Craig Kyle and Greg Johnson, the anime centers on
two siblings – an idealistic teenage boy and his naïve younger sister – who are forced to pilot an abandoned Jaeger across a hostile landscape in a desperate attempt to find their missing parents.
Here's another synopsis:
Long ago, humanity defeated the Kaiju. Now, they’re evacuating Australia. Join a pair of siblings and their battered, long-abandoned Jaegar as they battle across a continent of danger.
I haven't watched any of Pacific Rim: The Black yet, but I will watch it at some point.
