Pacific Rim 2 enlists Ukranian actress Ivanna Sakhno

PACIFIC RIM 2 is continuing its trend of strangely young, international cast members, adding the Ukrainian actress Ivanna Sakhno to the roster. At this point I half expect the title to turn out to be PACIFIC RIM: THE NEXT GENERATION. Well, I can neither confirm nor deny that because as usual they have released not a scrap of information about the plot or the character Sakhno will be playing.

Sakhno is an unknown in the states, but she has appeared in the adventure flick IVAN THE POWERFUL and will be seen soon in Thomas Dunn's THE BODY TREE. She will be joining a cast that also includes Scott Eastwood, Jing TIan, Cailee Spaeny, Levi Meaden, Adria Arjona, and John Boyega, who will play the son of Idris Elba's character in the original.

PACIFIC RIM 2 will be helmed by Daredevil season 1 showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, replacing original director del Toro, who remains on board as a producer. The script was penned by JURASSIC WORLD screenwriter Derek Connolly.

The film is currently scheduled for theatrical release on February 23, 2018.
