As you no doubt have noticed, CinemaCon has taken over the news feed for the week with each studio busting out their biggest and best to leave a lasting impression on attendees. As you can imagine, Disney certainly didn't pull any punches and just straight-up delivered the entirety of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (check out our review HERE). That wasn't all, however, as they also screened nearly a half hour of Pixar's latest, FINDING DORY.

Writer/director Andrew Stanton asked us not to spoil any of the specifics, so we're going to honor that, but we're more than happy to give you some impressions in case you were wondering if this FINDING NEMO sequel sinks or swims.

First up, the story revolves not only around the search for Dory, but Dory's search for her parents. A sudden impact to her head causes memories to come flooding back, including that of being separated from her parents. This helps to explain the odd character from FINDING NEMO when you take into consideration that she's just swimming around on an endless journey because she doesn't remember what she's supposed to be searching for. It's almost a shadowy reflection of how the first film could have ended. Suffice it to say that the the near-30 minutes we saw fit the NEMO mold perfectly, and that Thomas Newman's score is on point as per usual. Much like the first film, DORY looks to be a real journey, providing the majesty, emotion and laughs that the best Pixar films are known for.

FINDING DORY will hit theaters on June 17, 2016.
