Orlando Jones American Gods

Orlando Jones first caught attention as a cast member on the comedy show MADtv, but he has also crossed paths with his share of monsters, murderers, and unusual beings over the course of his career, taking on roles in such projects as FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 3, EVOLUTION, Sleepy Hollow, and American Gods (pictured above). Now Jones is set to star in a horror movie called DARK FORCES, which is coming to us from Lexicon and director Anthony O'Brien.

Scripted by Lexicon producers Mark Mathias Sayre and Justin Foia, DARK FORCES puts Jones in the role of

a monster movie director who becomes haunted by creatures from his own films while recovering from brain surgery.

O'Brien had this to say about the star of his film:

Orlando’s multi-talented and intellectually stimulating performances speak for themselves; his turn as Mr. Nancy on Starz's American Gods provides a perfect example of this. His contribution to DARK FORCES will allow the audience to experience a thoughtful energy and voice that old (and new) fans of the genre can embrace."

The concept of DARK FORCES makes me think of the Tales from the Crypt story Korman's Kalamity, in which the monsters drawn by a comic book artist would come to life in the real world. It's an interesting set-up, and I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of creatures Jones will be facing in the movie.
