Original Muppet performers to reunite this Saturday for online fundraiser

Editor's Note: The link that allows you to pre-register for the Muppet-related charity event is currently experiencing difficulties. We hope and suspect that it will be up and running again soon, so be sure to check back so that you can get in on this exciting opportunity.

Hi ho, Muppet fans! You might want to have your Kermit flail gif at the ready, because we've got some incredible news that's bound to bring a rainbow-colored ray of sunshine to your coronavirus-affected lives!

To celebrate the memory of Jim Henson and to raise money that will help COVID-19 frontline workers, four legendary Muppet performers — Bill Baretta, Fran Brill, Dave Goelz and Frank Oz – will reunite for a special livestream event this Saturday, May 16, at 4 p.m. ET.

Ah, but don't go losing your stuffing just yet. In order to attend this momentous event, you'll have to pre-register at http://muppetguystalking.com/jim/. To be clear, it doesn't cost you any money to participate, but if you do plan on joining the fun, event organizers ask that you make a donation to a selected COVID-19 related cause.

Sadly, Jim Henson passed away 30 years ago – on May 16, 1990 – and this Q & A discussion has been created to pay tribute to his legacy and to lift spirits while raising money to help workers.

“We wanted to lift people’s spirits and raise money for Covid-19 frontline workers,” said Victoria Labalme, who conceived and co-produced Muppet Guys Talking: Secrets Behind the Show the Whole World Watched, Oz's acclaimed documentary focusing on Muppet performers and their many talents. Labalme will also facilitate the livestream.

Among those contributing are some of the most legendary Muppet performers ever to stick their hand up a … well, you get it. Let's go down the list, shall we?

Bill Barretta, whose Muppet characters have included Pepe the King Prawn, Johnny Fiama, Bobo the Bear and Big Mean Carl;

Fran Brill, whose Muppet characters have included Prairie Dawn, Zoe, Little Bird and Betty Lou.

Dave Goelz, whose Muppet characters have included The Great Gonzo, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Zoot and Boober Fraggle.

Frank Oz, whose Muppet characters have included Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Cookie Monster and Grover.

Don't miss out on your chance to hang with some of the most legendary Muppet manipulators in the business and be sure to tune in and donate!
