So, with the upcoming JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION, I'm actually excited for the first time about a JURASSIC PARK (WATCH HERE) sequel since THE LOST WORLD broke my faith in any worthy successor to the original 1993 classic. Not only are we finally getting off the goddamn island and dealing with dinosaurs running amok in cities for the whole runtime (something THE LOST WORLD and FALLEN KINGDOM both teased but barely delivered on), it also seems – according to an interview with Yahoo! Movies UK – that Sam Neill (who played the main character Dr. Alan Grant in the first JURASSIC PARK) has confirmed that the size of the roles of the original JP cast members will actually be more than just mere cameos:
We’re all the way through the film, Jeff [Goldblum], and me, and Laura [Dern]
This is definitely a departure from FALLEN KINGDOM, which – while featuring Jeff Goldblum as the iconic Ian Malcom – only had him in the film for about 2 seconds (who probably shot for an hour at most). Glad to hear we'll be seeing our old favorites get in on more of the action!
Meanwhile, JURASSIC PARK: DOMINION – directed by Colin Trevorrow and also starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Dichen Lachman, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise and Scott Haze. – is expected to be stomping into theaters June 11th…but we'll keep you updated if there are any changes or delays.
So what do you guys think? Excited to see your old favorites in the new sequel? Either way, sound off below!
