Only Murders in the Building big hit with millennials as the season 2 premiere was watched by 627K households in its first week

Hulu’s critically acclaimed Only Murders in the Building recently returned for its second season and, according to Samba TV, the series has proven to be a big hit with millennials so far in season two.

Per Samba TV, 627,000 U.S. households watched the season two premiere of Only Murders in the Building in its first week on Hulu. Samba TV also notes that the premiere particularly over-indexed with millennials the most so it’s not just appealing to fans of Steve Martin and Martin Short. Selena Gomez’s presence is allowing the series to skew a bit younger. You can check out Samba TV’s tweet about the premiere below!

Only Murders in the Building is a mystery-comedy series created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. The series follows three strangers played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, that are bonded by a shared obsession with a true-crime podcast. When there is a mysterious death in their affluent Upper West Side apartment building, the trio decides to start their own podcast about their investigation. Per the official synopsis for season two, “Following the shocking death of Arconia board president Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel race to unmask her killer.”

The show has received high critical acclaim across its two seasons so far with both of them registering a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series has been praised for the chemistry of the three leads and its comedic approach to the still-growing trend of true crime obsession. Personally, I think it’s easily one of the funniest shows out there right now.
