Lord knows I thought I lost my desire to set a dancefloor on fire long ago, though a recent announcement that LUCIFER's fifth season will include a full-blown musical episode has me thinking I should ask the devil for my groove back, during my next visit to the Crossroads.
The fine folks over at Entertainment Weekly have recently learned that the ninth episode of LUCIFER's fifth and final season will be titled "Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam," and will feature an hour of multiple musical numbers, as performed by the show's cast. Music has often served as inspiration for LUCIFER showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson while working on the series, and now the duo will have their chance to make the Devil dance and sing his way into the hearts of millions.
“We wanted to have a real grounded story reason why they’re signing and dancing, and not just, ‘Oh, this is going to be the one where everybody sings and dance,'” Modrovich confessed to EW. “It’s been a little game of Tetris [planning the episode] but it’s super fun. It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be just such a bucket list thing for me.” Story details related to the episode are being kept in the flickering flames of a hellfire for the time being, though fans of the series can now look forward to one of entertainment's most handsome devils, Tom Ellis, singing toward the heavens alongside his blessed co-stars. Lord have mercy!
