On a Wing and a Prayer: Dennis Quaid and Heather Graham try to land their family safely without a pilot in new trailer

If you were pining for another miraculous plane landing movie after last year’s Plane, Prime Video now brings you a film that is based on the incredible true story of a private aircraft that suddenly loses its pilot and the father of the family of passengers having no choice but to step up. On a Wing and a Prayer features Dennis Quaid and Heather Graham as the matriarch and patriarch put in the difficult position of ensuring the safety of their family. You can check out the trailer in the embed above.

The official synopsis from Prime Video reads,
“In this extraordinary true story of faith and survival, On a Wing and a Prayer follows a family’s harrowing journey to land a plane safely after their pilot unexpectedly dies mid-flight. With no experience flying the twin-engine aircraft, Doug White struggles to save his entire family from seemingly certain tragedy. With the help of a far-flung group of determined ;angels,’ who join forces in a race against time and weather, the Whites learn a great deal about themselves, each other and the miracles that simple faith can achieve.”

“We got to hear everything that happened in real-time,” says Brian Egeston, who wrote the screenplay. “I knew then that it had to be a movie. It’s a great story with conflict, drama and the ability to inspire an audience. It was Easter Sunday and his life and the lives of his wife and his two young daughters were spared. I decided that we had to tell the story, no matter how long it took.” White was not easy to contact without an email address, so Egeston had to do it in the old-fashioned manner and wrote him a letter. “I wrote him a letter and crossed my fingers.”

The film stars Dennis Quaid, Heather Graham, and Jesse Metcalfe and is directed by journeyman director Sean McNamara. On a Wing and a Prayer is written by Brian Egeston and brought to us by producers Autumn Bailey-Ford, p.g.a., Roma Downey, p.g.a., Karl Horstmann, as well as co-produced by the real Doug White. Marco Henry is on board as executive producer. The film comes from MGM and Light Workers and will be available on Prime Video on Easter weekend, April 7.
