Director Bryan Singer announced 3 months ago that Olivia Munn would be taking on the role of Psylocke in his upcoming 80s period piece, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. While we don’t have a picture of her in costume yet (damn!), we do have some brief video of Munn displaying some of her finesse with a sword. Given the following, it looks like Psylocke will definitely be getting her ninja on in APOCALYPSE!
In case you need a reminder, Olivia Munn has joined the likes of James McAvoy as Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and most likely Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, to name a few! Seriously, how flipping cool is that ensemble?!?
Singer did a great job balancing the cast in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, so I’m curious to see which mutants will end up with the most screen time in APOCALYPSE. He’s obviously setting up some characters to take the reins over from the FIRST CLASS crowd, although I hope James McAvoy will stick around as Prof. X for future installments, even if it’s just a minor role.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will open in theaters on May 27, 2016.
