Everyone has their own idea of who Batman is. Some grew up with Michael Keaton. Others Christian Bale. Now we've got Ben Affleck. Hell, I'm sure there are a few who have an affinity for Val Kilmer and George Clooney even.
But then there are Batman fans who go old-school, all the way to the Adam West days of the BATMAN television series. This new feature film from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Animation is perfect for them.
BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS takes the Dark Knight animated once again, only this time he'll be in Adam West form (and voiced by the Batman legend, too) as he battles the criminal masterminds of the Joker, Catwoman, the Penguin and the Riddler… and I'm talking Cesar Romero Joker, not Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson. Julie Newmar is back to voice this yesteryear take on Catwoman with Burt Ward also participating as the Boy Wonder sidekick Robin.
This era has already been revisited in the pages of the BATMAN '66 comic, which captured the vibe of the original series incredibly well. This looks to do the same, so, if that Batman series holds a special place in your heart, you might want to check out BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS when it lands on Digital HD starting October 11 or on Blu-ray as of November 1.
