According to Box-Office Mojo, it seems that THE NEW MUTANTS – the troubled horror-tinged X-MEN spin-off – topped last week's box-office, making $7 million, which is pretty impressive considering how few venues there are to watch it currently. It's even more impressive when considering the abysmal reviews, only garnering a 35% on Rotten Tomatoes (with even our own Chris Bumbray giving it a 3/10). It's followed by the Russell Crowe-led thriller UNHINGED ($2.6 million), and BILL AND TED: FACE THE MUSIC ($1 million, though that opened simultaneously on digital and VOD).
Anyway, here's the official synopsis:
Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.
Meanwhile, THE NEW MUTANTS – starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, and Charlie Heaton – is out right now (if you have a theater or drive-in open near you)!
So what do you guys think? Plan on watching this in theaters? Either way, sound off below!
