The nostalgia craze that's been hitting television recently has been out of control. If you can name it, someone is already thinking about a way they can bring it back to the airwaves. They want old fans to cash in on those feelings of yesteryear while also providing something other than reruns to the younger generations.
Case in point: FULLER HOUSE.
No one really needed new episodes of an updated FULL HOUSE story. But with solid rerun ratings on cable and what feels like a fresh coat of love for the Tanner family, we're getting them anyway. And guess what? Some people are going to absolutely eat it up with a spoon. And that same group is going to be ecstatic with the official logo for the show, even though it looks exactly like the logo for the original ABC sitcom, only with an -er at the end.
Hey… to each their own. If this drums up the enthusiasm for you, then so be it. More power to you. We all need to love something in our lifetimes.
In the spinoff series, Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron-Bure) recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old Jackson, neurotic 7-year-old Max and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr.
13 episodes of FULLER HOUSE will debut on Netflix sometime in 2016.
