We've been looking forward to seeing the release of Mike Flanagan's supernatural shocker OCULUS for a while and was excited to learn that Relativity and Blumhouse had partnered to acquire the film at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September, giving the film an April 18 2014 release date. Now we've learned that a new release date has come into focus for OCULUS with the film now scheduled to open wide in theaters a week earlier, on April 11.
Karen Gillan and Brenton Thwaites star with Rory Cochrane, Katee Sackhoff, Annalise Basso, and Garrett Ryan, along with James Lafferty and Miguel Sandoval. OCULUS is directed by Mike Flanagan from a script he co-wrote with Jeff Howard, based on a short film Flanagan and Jeff Seidman made in 2005. Check out our review of the film HERE.
OCULUS is a spine-chilling supernatural tale of two damaged siblings (Gillan and Thwaites) who, as children, witnessed their parents’ harrowing descent into madness and murder. At long last, brother and sister reunite as adults to expose and destroy the paranormal entity they believe is responsible: the Lasser Glass — a legendary mirror their family once owned.
Look for OCULUS to hit theaters on April 11.
