Cult favorite, Dante Tomaselli (
HORROR
), has made a career out of scaring people. So when the man has this to say about his upcoming aquatic horror film THE OCEAN, we’d better listen: “With drowning and underwater death scenes galore, the more I plan THE OCEAN, the more I’m certain it will be my scariest film. When I was a boy, I had asthma. I remember the clinging-for-life instinct—gasping for breath. It’s that heartstopping adrenaline-rush feeling that I’m tapping for chills with THE OCEAN.”
I guess Tomaselli felt like talking a bit, because he had a lot to say to the boys over at Fangoria, including this update on his upcoming film: “I’ve met recently with Feverpitch, the movie’s producers, and we are officially moving the start of the shoot to January. This is because the current Feverpitch movie, LET THE GAME BEGIN, just wrapped principal photography; the producers now need to go into postproduction on that project, so they’re a bit behind. But, you know, this is the life of an independent film. The good news is that THE OCEAN is definitely moving forward, and we are committed to shooting in January. And it’s going to get the care in preproduction that it truly deserves.”
The film’s Official Myspace page described the film as such: “It’s a movie about killer waves and the cleansing of the earth’s sins…It’s about the end of the world…God’s wrath…the ocean itself revolting. There’s a deadly Ebola-like virus spreading along a coastal community. The Ocean is an apocalyptic horror film with the story of a shattered family in deep psychic pain at the core. I’m excited to have Kindred behind the production of my next feature.”
It should be noted that our own boss man himself, The Arrow, will be playing a surfer who meets his maker when the ocean drags him down to the 7th ring of Hell.
