Some days, you just can’t get rid of a bomb. In Netflix‘s Obliterated, a team of decorated soldiers find themselves on the business end of a nasty hangover while trying to stop an impending disaster. Recovering from a night of drug-fueled debauchery is challenging on any front, but doing it while the survival of millions hangs in the balance? That’s what I call a rude awakening. Today, Netflix deployed a gallery of first-look images and a release date for Obliterated, a new high-octane action-comedy series from directors Jon Hurwitz (Cobra Kai) and Hayden Schlossberg (Cobra Kai).
Launching November 30, Obliterated “tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs, and sex, the team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb, and save the world.”
Hurwitz and Schlossberg direct, with Shelley Hennig (Unfriended, Ouija), Nick Zano (The Final Destination, Legends of Tomorrow), C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders, The Hitcher), Kimi Rutledge (Half Sisters, The Wayfare), Paola Lázaro, Terrence Terrell (Lethal Weapon, Wu-Tang: The American Saga), Alyson Gorske (Meteor Moon, Devil’s Triangle), and Eugene Kim (The Lincoln Lawyer, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as series regulars.
Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Josh Heald are the writers and showrunners for Obliterated, with Hurwitz, Schlossberg, Heald, and Dina Hiller executive producing.
In Netflix’s Obliterated first-look images, the team stumbles through the aftermath of an epic night of partying while piecing together a plan to save the world from devastation. No amount of coffee, water, and Advil can mitigate the remnants from the night before, forcing the team to battle both sobriety and bad guys alike. The mad dash to defuse the real bomb takes the group to several corners of Las Vegas, from expensive hotels to sunny beaches, casinos, and more!
What’s the worst hangover you’ve ever experienced? Can you defuse a bomb after a hard night of partying? The last time I got obliterated was in November 2021, after seeing Caribou at the London Music Hall in Ontario, Canada. I swore that night never to mix so much alcohol again. Tell us about your last wild night in the comments below!
Obliterated comes to Netflix on November 30, 2023.
