November’s Awake

I have to admit this is the first time I’ve heard of AWAKE, but it seems pretty cool and has been screening to test audiences all of Los Angeles. MGM exec’s have been delaying this film for quite some time now, but it looks like it will finally get to grace the silver screen. But first, don’t you want to know what it’s about? I do!

In “Awake,” a psychological thriller that tells the story of a man (Christensen) undergoing heart surgery while experiencing a phenomenon called “anesthetic awareness,” which leaves him awake but paralyzed throughout the operation. As various obstacles present themselves, his wife (Alba) must make life-altering decisions while wrestling with her own personal drama.

The film stars Hayden Christiansen, Jessica Alba, Lena Olin, Terrence Howard and Christopher McDonald. It was written and directed by Joby Harold and will be released by MGM on November 30th.

Honestly it sounds a bit like the very terrible and utter waste of two hours SUBLIME, in which it deals with similar concepts. But who knows, it may be good.
