Get Out and Us writer/director Jordan Peele’s “horror epic” Nope (read our review HERE – our reviewer JimmyO gave the film a 9/10 score) had a successful run at the box office, pulling in over $171 million worldwide, and is now available on home video. You can buy at THIS LINK and watch it at THIS LINK. Now we’re heading into awards season… and Universal is looking to score some Oscar nominations for the film. They have cut together a “For Your Consideration” trailer with quotes from reviews where they let it be known that they’d be glad to receive nominations in any and all categories. You can watch the For Your Consideration trailer in the embed above.

Nope centers on residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.

Those residents are played by Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), Keke Palmer (Alice), and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead). They are joined in the cast by Keith David (The Thing), Michael Wincott (The Crow), Brandon Perea (The OA), and Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria). There’s also a chimp named Gordy in there for some reason.

I watched Nope one time when it reached VOD back in August and was lukewarm on the film, which I didn’t enjoy as much as either Get Out or Us. At this point, most of it has evaporated from my memory, and I’m in no hurry to have a refresher viewing. It’s not a movie I would be showering nominations on, but I’m not in the Academy.

What did you think of Nope? Do you think the film should earn Oscar nominations in any categories? Share your thoughts on this one, and let us know what you thought of the For Your Consideration trailer, by leaving a comment below.
