Going Places John Turturro The Big Lebowski

It's been close to twenty years since Jesus Quintana (John Turturro) first brought his own particular brand of ball-shining craziness to Joel and Ethan Coen's THE BIG LEBOWSKI, and the character is set to return in GOING PLACES, an upcoming film which has been written and directed by Turturro himself. In addition to serving as a BIG LEBOWSKI spin-off, the flick is also a remake of the 1974 French erotic comedy LES VALSEUSES. Although the Coen brothers aren't involved with GOING PLACES, Turturro did get their blessing to reprise his character for the film. A first-look image was released today and from the look of things, Jesus really hasn't changed all that much.

GOING PLACES follows a trio of misfits, one of which includes Jesus, whose irreverent, sexually charged dynamic evolves "into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past or future backfires time and again, even as they inadvertently perform good deeds. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen." The upcoming film, which also stars Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou, Susan Sarandon and Sonia Braga, doesn't have a release date at the moment, but it certainly has a built in audience of rabid BIG LEBOWSKI fans who are eager to devour it as soon as possible.
