RLJE Films has picked up the North American distribution rights to the dramatic thriller No Man of God, which stars Luke Kirby as infamous serial killer Ted Bundy and Elijah Wood as FBI Agent Bill Hagmaier. RLJE hasn't announced a specific release date yet, but did let it be known that they intend to get No Man of God into theatres in August of 2021.
Based on real transcripts and conversations between Bundy and Hagmaier, the film has the following synopsis:
In 1980, Ted Bundy was sentenced to death by electrocution. In the years that followed, he agreed to disclose the details of his crimes, but only to one man. No Man of God is based on the true story of the strange and complicated relationship that developed between FBI agent Bill Hagmaier (Wood) and an incarcerated Ted Bundy (Kirby) in the years leading to Bundy's execution.
Amber Sealey directed from a screenplay by Kit Lesser. Kirby and Wood are joined in the cast by Aleksa Palladino and Robert Patrick.
Wood produced the film with Daniel Noah, Lisa Whalen, and Kim Sherman. Whalen had this to say about it:
No Man of God explores a familiar subject through a different lens. Through the brilliant direction of Amber Sealey, the film poses challenging questions about the dangers of our obsession with serial killers like Bundy. RLJE Films immediately recognized what was special about this film. We're thrilled to be working with them again."
RLJE's Mark Ward said,
No Man of God explores FBI agent Bill Hagmaier's actual interrogation of Ted Bundy. A story that has never been told, No Man of God brings a new and revealing perspective to the Ted Bundy story."
It sounds interesting. We'll let you know when the exact release date is announced, but in the meantime here are some first look images:
