No Exit, Dennis Haysbert, Havana Rose Liu, thriller

You know your movie is in safe hands when you add Allstate spokesperson and accomplished actor Dennis Haysbert, Havana Rose Liu, and Danny Ramirez to the cast.

Directed by Killing Ground helmer Damien Power, the upcoming film is called No Exit. It features a script written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, which tells of a college student (Liu) stuck with a group of people at a mountain rest stop during a blizzard. Things take a turn for the dangerous when the young woman discovers a kidnapped child in a car belonging to one of the people inside, setting in motion a terrifying life-or-death struggle to discover who among them is the kidnapper. Joining the aforementioned stars in key roles are David Rysdahl, Dale Dickey, and Mila Harris. Plans are to stream the movie in 2022 as a Disney direct-to-consumer original feature on Hulu in the U.S. and internationally on Disney+ as a part of Star.

Scott Frank, the co-creator of The Queen’s Gambit, is producing what will be a 20th Century Studios presentation.

Haysbert recently completed his time in the role of God for the sexy and supernatural series Lucifer. He also just completed his contribution to Silent Retreat, in which he plays Josh Alpert. The story centers on a man and woman with relationship issues who goes on a meditation retreat that requires absolute silence for three days. You could learn a lot about yourself in that amount of time. I wonder what this man will discover?

Soon, Havana Rose Liu can be seen as a cast member of The Chair. Created by Amanda Peet and Annie Wyman, the upcoming Netflix series focuses on the trials and tribulations of the Chair of an English department at a major university.

Last but certainly not least is actor Danny Ramirez, who is in the midst of filming Plus/Minus for Wanuri Kahiu. It tells the story of Natalie, whose life, on the eve of her college graduation, diverges into two parallel realities: one in which she becomes pregnant and must navigate motherhood as a young adult in her Texas hometown, the other in which she moves to L.A. to pursue her career. Sounds trippy, doesn't it?

No Exit recently wrapped production in New Zealand, so it shouldn't be too long before we get to see a trailer.
