The original DEADLY PREMONITION is a crazy, cult classic videogame, released in 2010 (!) for the PS3 and X-BOX 360, and was
an open world survival horror video game developed by Access Games. Set in the fictional, rural American town of Greenvale, Washington, the story follows FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan as he investigates the murder of an eighteen-year-old woman, which bears similarities to a series of murders across the country.
Meanwhile the sequel – DEADLY PREMONITION 2: A BLESSING IN DISGUISE – will see Agent Francis York Morgan return to track down a vicious serial killer and explore the fictional town of Le Carré. And as the trailer says, it will bless the Nintendo Switch July 10th. No other console release – if they are to happen – has been revealed at this time.
Now, the original – while not remembered as a great game mechanically – is best known as an off-the-wall TWIN PEAKS homage, replete with a stoic FBI agent protagonist who loves "damn good coffee", it's own version of "The Log Lady" (who instead was obsessed with pots), and even a supernatural "Red Room" the FBI protagonist visits to get clues. But beyond the TWIN PEAKS references, the story has been highly regarded for its emotional depth and dreamlike surreality. Let's hope the sequel doesn't skimp out on either.
But what do you guys think? Fans of the original DEADLY PREMONITIONS? If so, how is sequel looking so far? Either way, sound off below!
