In a recent article about Stallone's production company wanting to be the Blumhouse of action movies, there was a list of projects Stallone has in the works – and one of those projects is a TV series based on his 1981 thriller NIGHTHAWKS co-starring Billy Dee Williams and the late Rutger Hauer.
Unfortunately, that's all we know about the planned series at this point. But let's hope that Stallone (and Billy Dee Willams) agree to cameo at some point. That'd be badass. But until we know more make sure to let us know how excited you are for the possibility of a NIGHTHAWKS TV series below!
The original followed:
Fresh from mounting a devastating bomb attack in London, an international terrorist arrives in New York and remains intent upon wreaking further bloody havoc. His preparation is clinical and thorough but he overlooks one thing – the grit and steely determination of one New York cop.
NIGHTHAWKS was directed by Bruce Malmuth from a screenplay written by David Shaber. Martin Poll produced and the movie co-starred Lindsay Wagner, Persis Khambatta, and Nigel Davenport. Universal Pictures unleashed the movie into a theater near your parents back on April 10, 1981.
