I can't help but have a lot of love for Tom Savini's remake of George A. Romero's classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (pre-order HERE). I'm pretty sure I saw this film before I saw Romero's original so it will always have a special place in my horror heart.
And speaking of this 1990 remake, today we have word that Sony will bring the film back to life on Blu-ray this October. There are no special features listed at this time, but you can check out the cover art below!
It’s a new night for terror – and a new dawn in horror movie-making when special-effects genius Tom Savini brings modern technology to this colorful remake of George A. Romero’s 1968 cult classic:
Seven strangers are trapped in an isolated farmhouse while cannibalistic zombies – awakened from death by the return of aradioactive space probe – wage a relentless attack, killing (and eating) everyone in their path. The classic for the ‘90s: graphic, gruesome and more terrifying than ever!
Produced by Romero himself, this remake was directed by special effects legend Tom Savini (DAWN OF THE DEAD, FRIDAY THE 13TH). It stars Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, Tom Towles, McKee Anderson, William Butler, Katie Finneran, Heather Mazur, Bill Moseley, and Russell Streiner.
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1990) will be unleashed via Sony on Blu-ray on October 23rd.
