We’ve been tracking the progress of Night of the Caregiver, a horror film that’s coming to us from the creative team behind the upcoming action-packed Western Gunfight at Rio Bravo, ever since the project was first announced- and we have an EXCLUSIVE update to share today. The final poster for Night of the Caregiver has just been unveiled, and you can check it out below. Along with the poster comes the announcement that ITN Studios has picked up the North American distribution rights to the film and will be giving it a theatrical and VOD release on August 15th! We’re just two weeks away from having the chance to watch Night of the Caregiver!
A digital and DVD release will follow sometime this fall.
Night of the Caregiver is an international co-production between ETA Films, San Rafael Production and Hollywood Storm, with Joe Cornet (A Prayer for the Damned) directing from a screenplay written by Craig Hamann (Showdown in Manila). Alexander Nevsky (Black Rose) is producing, and Cornet serves as executive producer with Eric Brenner (The Haunting of Sharon Tate) and Douglas “Fini” Finical (Taken from Rio Bravo). Sean Murray (Call of Duty: Black Ops) composed the score.
The horror debut for both Cornet and Nevsky, the film has the following synopsis: Hospice nurse Julia Rowe is hired to be caregiver for Lillian Gresham, who lives in an isolated house in a remote area. Although she is terminally ill, the elderly Lillian is a cordial and sweet lady. However, as the night goes on, Julia suspects something demonic is also dwelling in the house causing she and Lillian to be in grave danger…
Night of the Caregiver stars Natalie Denise Sperl (Mank), Eileen Dietz, who is best known for playing the demon in the classic horror film The Exorcist (watch it HERE), Anna Oris (Gunfight at Rio Bravo), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), and Joe Cornet himself. Sam Wilkerson (Paydirt) was the director of photography, and the stunt coordinator was Robert Madrid (Half Past Dead 2). Cody Miller (Maximum Impact) is the editor.
Stuart Alson negotiated the North American distribution deal on behalf of ITN Studios along with BD Films Paul Hertzberg on behalf of the filmmakers. Cornet provided the following statement: “It is my pleasure to announce the release of my new horror film Night of the Caregiver, through ITN Distribution. I believe audiences will be thrilled by the film’s strange and bizarre story, think The Exorcist combined with the terrifying elements of a Dario Argento film!“
