Night Court: First reboot images reveal John Larroquette’s return

A reboot of the Emmy-winning 1980s sitcom Night Court is heading to NBC and we now have our first images from the series, headlined by The Big Bang Theory’s Melissa Rauch, and they feature John Larroquette’s return, who starred on the original show which aired from 1984-1992.

Rauch took to her Instagram to share new images from the show and they feature Larroquette alongside the rest of the new cast which includes Kapil Talwalkar, India de Beaufort, and Lacretta. The caption on the set of photos reads, “I love this cast.” Rauch also praised the work of the behind-the-scenes team while exclaiming how much fun she had working on the series. You can check out the Instagram post below!

The original Night Court, which was nominated for 31 Ammy Awards during its run, followed the antics of the Manhattan municipal court’s night staff. The cast of characters was led by the eccentric and fun-loving Judge Harry T. Stone (Harry Anderson) and the rest of the cast included Larroquette’s Dan Fielding, Richard Moll, Markie Post, Marsha Warfield, and Charles Robinson. Night Court would take home seven of those 31 Emmy Awards and four of them were for Larroquette for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

Larroquette will be returning for the reboot to play sleazy prosecutor Dan Fielding. This time the series will be following the daughter of Anderson’s Harry, Judge Abby Stone. As of now, Larroquette is the only original cast member set for a return on the reboot. Moll and Warfield are still actively working in the industry so they could pop up for some guess appearances but sadly Anderson and Post have both passed away in the years since Night Court first ended.

Are YOU excited for John Larroquette’s return on the Night Court reboot? The show is scheduled for NBC’s 2022-2023 lineup but a specific date for its premiere has not been set as of this writing.
