Nicolas Cage to explore a horrific amusement park in Wally’s Wonderland

Everyone knows that MANDY actor Nicolas Cage is unafraid of embracing all things strange, cinematically speaking. After recently completing his role as big-game hunter Frank Walsh for Nick Powell's PRIMAL – a film in which Cage's character must outsmart both a notorious terrorist as well as a rare white jaguar while aboard a shipping freighter – it's been announced that Cage will star in WALLY'S WONDERLAND, a genre film set to be helmed by Kevin Lewis (THE DROP).

In the upcoming film, Cage will play a janitor, who's forced to spend the night in a twisted amusement park where he is pulled into a living nightmare. As the threatening animatronic characters come to life, the janitor has to fight his way from one monster to another to survive until morning and get out of the park. (via Deadline)

Landafar Entertainment, JD Entertainment, Saturn Films, Almost Never Films & Screen Media Ventures are backing the project, which boasts a script that arrived high on the Blood List, a collection of genre screenplays to watch. Penning the script for WALLY'S WONDERLAND is G.O. Parsons, with  Grant Cramer (LONE SURVIOR), Jeremy Davis (THE STREET RACER), and Danny Roth (ANTI-LIFE) executive producing alongside Cage and Mike Nilon. The film is scheduled to begin production in January, with Danny Chan, Foresight Chairman Mark Damon, and Screen Media's SVP of Worldwide Acquisitions Seth Needle also lending their talents to the project's executive production.

"For me there was always one actor and one actor only who could make this movie work" said Lewis, "and that actor is Nic Cage. I'm thrilled to be working with him and can't wait to see him go up against Wally and his gang of psychopathic misfits. I see this movie as Pale Rider vs Killer Klowns from Outer Space."

PALE RIDER vs KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE, you say? Sign me the f*ck up for this one! For real, ever since the 2018 release of Panos Cosmatos' MANDY – a film that has Cage hunting and killing a nightmarish hippie cult and demon-biker henchmen – I've been riding something of a Nicolas Cage high. I simply love the way he throws himself into any role, complete with his signature brand of crazy. I say bring out the clowns for WALLY'S WONDERLAND, and let Cage rip through them like carnival kids devouring a cotton candy booth on opening night.
