We have some very sad news to report this morning, as it has been revealed that actress Nicki Aycox has passed away at the age of 47. Aycox had been fighting leukemia since the early months of 2021, and her sister-in-law Susan Raab Ceklosky shared on Facebook that her fight came to an end last Wednesday, November 16th. Ceklosky said, “My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented and loving sister-in-law, Nicki Aycox Raab, passed away yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side. Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was definitely a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her.“
Born in Oklahoma on May 26, 1975, Aycox started off as a piano player, then shifted over acting when a financial setback forced her family to sell their piano. After acting in high school plays, she moved to California and enrolled in the theater department at Long Beach State. Soon she signed with an agency in Hollywood and started getting screen acting roles. Best known for playing heroine Minxie Hayes in Jeepers Creepers 2 and the first iteration of the demon Meg Masters on the TV series Supernatural (the role of Meg was later taken over by Rachel Miner), Aycox also appeared in episodes of the TV shows Weird Science, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Boy Meets World, Ally McBeal, The X-Files, Dark Angel, CSI, The Twilight Zone, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Cold Case, and Longmire, among others. Her film credits include Crime + Punishment in Suburbia, Dead Birds, Perfect Stranger, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead, and The Girl on the Train.
In 2015, she returned to music and released an EP titled Red Velvet Room, which contained five of her original songs.
When he heard Aycox had passed away, Supernatural creator Eric Kripke sent out this tweet:
Our sincere condolences go out to Aycox’s family, friends, and fans.
