Nick Groff is one of the most respected names in television and beyond when it comes to the paranormal. He has had incredible experiences in some of the most haunted locations in the world. As a friend to Arrow in the Head, we’ve shared some very exciting experiences with Nick including a couple of wild and spooky moments that we’ve managed to capture on camera. Thus, we’ve decided to work with the television host and producer extraordinaire so he can share his knowledge and insight on all things that go bump in the night. With this bi-monthly column, we plan to delve into everything from urban legends to ghostly apparitions, to his take on some of the coolest genre flicks ever. This is Nick Groff Investigates…!

THE QUEEN MARY (PART 2 of 2)

In the last Nick Groff Investigates – which you can check out here – we discussed the iconic Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. This spooky ship with one hell of a history has been known to cause more than a few terrifying stories from within its hallowed halls. And as mentioned in the previous installment, just over a week ago Mr. Groff returned, along with a few special guests including Elizabeth Saint. We previously spoke about the creepy happenings that took place the last time the Nick Groff Tour came to town in part one of this column on the famed ship, and frankly, I’m thrilled to hear what happened upon their return. From the disturbing screaming EVP to a “spirit box” giving us clues regarding one of the employees working on the ship, there was a ton to be curious about.

There was something else we mentioned in the previous article, and that is that we’d have a special treat for this weeks column. While I didn’t return to the ship this time around, we did have the opportunity to sit down with Nick and Elizabeth beforehand and talk about what the upcoming weekend had in store. It was a late night of laughs, ghostly talk and a couple of additional movie memorabilia treats courtesy of my cameraman Ryan Cultrera. In addition to some lively conversation, we also have some footage from the previous trip to Long Beach in 2017 and the eyewitness accounts of some of the events described earlier. It is always an absolute pleasure to sit down with Nick and Elizabeth, and hopefully you’ll enjoy our humor laden chat about all things Queen Mary.

And finally, since I was not in attendance to tell my own tales, Nick has a few stories to share from his experiences after the fact. And yes, it appears that this was yet another successful experience for fans getting the chance to get in on the ghost hunting action. “This was yet another fascinating visit aboard the Queen Mary. Both days were sold out with people from all over the country! I had an incredible time speaking with everyone and investigating the ship. The boiler room was extremely interesting in this one spot where the part of the ship would of filled up with water. We kept recording unexplainable voices and yelling. The Queen Mary guides were amazing! They told the story of the Queen Mary running through a smaller ship during the war and killing over 300 plus men. Some being sucked into the small gash on the Queen Mary ripping the men in half. Scary story, but history is important to understand the energy the Queen Mary still holds. 

All the small groups that rotated through the ship in different sections had interesting experiences to share at the end of the night. I learned new things I didn’t experience my first couple times on the Queen Mary so it was great to be back a final time. The ship has an iconic history forever attached to it and energy that is mysterious at times and felt by the living.

I absolutely loved investigating the boiler room. Most importantly seeing people’s reactions and hearing about their experiences was the best part for me. Another journey accomplished and more knowledge learned. Every tour and location offers something new to discover. The experience is what I live for and as I grow older to understand more about the world we live in is what makes my quest satisfying. Everything begins with the history from the past but lives on through the people in the present. Until next time…keep exploring the mysteries of the world.
