Nick Groff is one of the most respected names in television and beyond when it comes to the paranormal. He has had incredible experiences in some of the most haunted locations in the world. As a friend to Arrow in the Head, we’ve shared some very exciting experiences with Nick including a couple of wild and spooky moments that we’ve managed to capture on camera. Thus, we’ve decided to work with the television host and producer extraordinaire so he can share his knowledge and insight on all things that go bump in the night. With this bi-monthly column, we plan to delve into everything from urban legends to ghostly apparitions, to his take on some of the coolest genre flicks ever. This is Nick Groff Investigates…!
Thanksgiving is finally here. While it's certainly an unusual one like everything else in 2020, many are planning to celebrate in unique ways. Recently, I took in the insanely enjoyable feature from Marcus Dunston for the Hulu fright-fest Into the Dark. PILGRIM is a wonderfully creepy tale that examines the holiday with a modern gaze, and has instantly become a must watch for the season. By playing with the original customs and adding a little gruesome frights into the mix, it's the perfect treat for those looking for something unusual.
Of course it's not just the movies. We all are likely getting ready to feast on turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy, and binge on a series or whatever marathon happens to be playing. And being this is AITH, perhaps there's something spooky to discuss when it comes to Thanksgiving weekend. Last week, I reached out to Nick about taking on the holiday and if there is any place that had connected with him on his many paranormal journeys. The thing about Mr. Groff is that he always has some cool and haunting tale that he can share. Whatever the day, the location, or whatever you can think of, he's got something exciting to engage in.
This week on Nick Groff Investigates, he opens up about his experience at one of the most "iconic haunted locations in the world." The Oliver House has a long history of scary stories, as well as the rumored visit of an American president. You can check out some of this location's history here.
Considering Nick spent 72-hours at the Oliver House for an episode of Paranormal Lockdown, he had a couple of really fascinating stories to share. So read on and find out about the mysterious home that wasn't too far from the famed Plymouth Rock. Have you had the chance to visit? If so, what were your experiences like? And of course, tell your tale below in the comments. And while you're at it, what movies and shows are you planning on catching this upcoming long weekend? Happy Thanksgiving from Nick and I, and everyone here at Arrow in the Head. Stay happy and healthy and safe out there!
Throughout the years I had the opportunity to investigate some of the most unique and iconic haunted locations in the world. Not too far from Plymouth Rock is Middleborough, MA where the Oliver House still stands the test of time. One of the most interesting locations I've had the privilege to investigate. The Oliver House is a staple stone in American History!
Construction was completed in 1769. The house was ultimately confiscated by the Sons of Liberty. So much history has been embedded into the grounds where the foundation is located. I had a lot of experiences at the Oliver House, one, in particular, was seeing the ghost of a little boy. Sleeping at the location for three days was the most enlightening experience, especially making contact with the spirits from the past.
Remembering history is very important to learn and also grow as human beings. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks but also for history to be retold for the next generation. The Oliver House is the perfect example of a historic landmark that played a part in molding America. Through time, there has been bloodshed and lives lost, leaving some souls without a voice to be heard. These hauntings still echo throughout locations such as the Oliver House. Energy has a way of replaying itself and being heard.
Taking a step back in time at the Oliver House will bring you closer to the extensive history that can only be imagined and read about in textbooks. Experiencing historical environments is what the journey is all about in life; and learning the history to grow into the future. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Remember to give thanks and keep searching…
