Nick Groff is one of the most respected names in television and beyond when it comes to the paranormal. He has had incredible experiences in some of the most haunted locations in the world. As a friend to Arrow in the Head, we’ve shared some very exciting experiences with Nick including a couple of wild and spooky moments that we’ve managed to capture on camera. Thus, we’ve decided to work with the television host and producer extraordinaire so he can share his knowledge and insight on all things that go bump in the night. With this bi-monthly column, we plan to delve into everything from urban legends to ghostly apparitions, to his take on some of the coolest genre flicks ever. This is Nick Groff Investigates…!

THE ORSON STARR HOUSE!

One of our favorite things here at AITH when it comes to working with Nick Groff is the incredible people who join him along the way. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many, yet I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with the great Mr. John E.L. Tenney in person. Very much an impressive figure in the world of anomalistic reseach, folklore and strange phenomena, it was wonderful to see Mr. Tenney take on a bit of darkness in the Groff produced 2014 series Ghost Stalkers  – along with another amazing fellow by the name of Chad Lindberg. As a fan of the series, it was fantastic watching both John and Chad take on their own personal terrors in such an intriguing and enjoyable way.

Recently, Nick and I started a discussion on what this weeks Nick Groff Investigates should cover, and I was excited to hear a bit about the Orson Starr House – and yes, a bit about how Mr. Tenney joined in on the spooky adventure. This house, located in Michigan, appears to have a few haunted inhabitants, one includes an old man thought to be Orson Starr himself, some people even claim to hear children’s laughter. There is also word of an old woman and a dog that haunt its hallowed halls. Having not had the experience of walking through the rooms of the Starr home, I can only wonder what kind of energy that would surround you as you turn each corner in hopes of getting a glimpse into the unknown.

Thankfully, we don’t have to simply wonder, since Nick is happy to take on the unexplained, while trying to answer the question of what happens after this life. Below, Nick discusses some of his own fascinating experiences that he shared with Tenney. One of which happens to be a thought that is truly extraordinary, the idea that we can somehow communicate with our past selves. However, instead of me talking about a place I’ve yet to visit, we are thrilled to present Nick’s take on spending time at the Orson Starr House. In addition, we have a couple of cool video previews of what’s to come with “Nick Groff Investigates,’ the series.

“I was excited to explore the Orson Starr House! I have heard so many interesting stories from a lot of people in the paranormal community about this unique location. Knowing my good friend John E.L. Tenney has investigated the historical house several times, I definitely had to learn more.

So much history has occurred inside this house that I felt like I was stepping back in time when I crossed the threshold of the front door. Speaking about the hauntings and understanding the unexplainable activity only made me want to dig deeper. John had so many interesting theories and it was incredible to investigate this location together. We slowly crept into the dark basement and quickly realized John had a strong connection with the other side. He was tapping on the walls and pipes of the building and we received direct responses. We began to ask more questions and the responses became more direct.

John and I spoke for awhile in the basement trying to think outside the box of other possibilities revolving around the experiences we just had. One theory was, could we be communicating with John's younger self from when he came here with his friends, and did a similar tapping in the basement? Are we communicating with our past selves at these locations and that's what we believe ghosts are? We are all ghosts in some form as time moves forward. Every second that we are living, our bodies are also dying. Is it possible that a location can hold vibrations and transmit them from one reality to the other reality?

I left the location with more questions than answers. In order to push the paranormal forward, we need to think outside the box at all possibilities. We live in a world that is vast with a lot of unknowns. The journey has just begun as there is so much more to explore! Thank you John E.L. Tenney for your dedication, love and incredible mind to help me further this investigation.”
