CRYPTID CON 2019!

Every other week, we seek out a subject and have Nick Groff bring a little extra knowledge to whatever it may happen to be. It may be a reaction to a cool horror flick, or his expertise on all things paranormal. And while this week is no exception, we also wanted to give you all a look at the event he recently attended. If you aren’t familiar with Cryptid Con, you probably won’t be too surprised by what happens at this awesome convention. Here is what the website, cryptidcon.com, has to say about this awesome super cool adventure:

"CRYPTID CON IS A WEEKEND-LONG ADVENTURE FOR ALL YOU CRYPTO-ENTHUSIASTS! MEET TELEVISION PERSONALITIES. LEARN FROM SEASONED RESEARCHERS. SHOP FROM UNIQUE VENDORS. NETWORK WITH OTHERS IN SEARCH OF ELUSIVE CREATURES. TWO FULL DAYS OF MYSTERIOUS MAYHEM!"

Some of the highlights of this year’s event include Seth Breedlove and his latest creepy docudrama MOMO: THE MISSOURI MONSTER. This feature examines a “hair-covered, three-toed monstrosity [that] was said to have prowled the forests of Star Hill, near Louisiana, Missouri during the summer of 1972 where it was spotted by terrified citizens for weeks.” And if you are looking for more monsters, Cryptic Con offers up a ton of other creepy urban legends including Bigfoot stories, impressively crafted artwork and toys, and so many other cool scary tales. This is the kind of convention that will please fans of the unknown as they journey into numerous fascinating stories.

Even thought Nick has been quite busy due to the convention and a few other projects, he did have a quick moment to send over this thoughts about Cryptid, and the wild times he has had there. Thus, in this weeks column, I’m not only going to add his thoughts on the convention, but it seems like the perfect time to share some of his tales that he has posted on his Instagram site. If Cryptid Con sounds like a good time to you, you should definitely try and make plans for next year as it should be a perfect weekend for fans of all things unexplained!

Take it away Nick!

“Cryptid Con 2019 in Lexington, Kentucky was incredible and a huge success! Third year with amazing guests and a packed house.

I’m fascinated by all things paranormal and supernatural. Cryptic is interesting to me as I’ve learned so much new information from guests like Bobo, Cliff and many others. I love hearing the stories and new ideas outside what we can’t fully comprehend. The vendors at the event were amazing too. I had a great time speaking on some podcasts and going into some deep conversations about life, death, beyond and everything in between that’s bizarre.

We all got to share some interesting stories and experiences with one another. I can’t wait for next year to come as every new year keeps growing and I keep learning. Shoutout to my Cryptid Con partners Lee and Jennifer Kirkland and Jeff Waldridge. Thank you to everyone that attended and has supported the convention. I will see you next year in 2020!”
