THE CONJURING HOUSE!

I'll never forget the first time I saw James Wan's THE CONJURING. It was a packed theatre, and a screening meant for journalists who would be covering interviews for the film. Not sure what to expect from the man that brought us SAW, I was stunned by the impressive direction and cinematography. The scares worked, even if the trailer revealed one of the best sequences well before. And then there was the talent on-screen. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga were perfect as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Even the Perron family was perfectly cast with LilI Taylor and Ron Livingston impressing as a husband and wife haunted by a terrifying entity.

After watching this fine feature, it quickly became one of my go to's when it comes to repeat viewings. And when a film is reportedly based on a true story, it always makes me want to look deeper into it. Yet even before, I was well aware of Ed and Lorraine, but I wasn't terribly clear on the events that happened at the Rhode Island residence. As a horror film, it moved me to look into the true tales. And while much of it was exaggerated, this fine feature continues to give me a fright or two while watching with all the lights off. Is it just me, or did any of you want to play hide and clap in a haunted location?

We're talking about this particular feature because Nick Groff had a recent adventure that connects to this hit flick. Recently, Nick spent some time at the original Conjuring House. Now I've never been, and I'm not familiar with the new owners. However, based on a recent article dated October 2, 2019, on the website for All That's Interesting, the new owners claim that the home is still very much haunted – you can check that out here. Clearly, it inspired Nick to check out what paranormal frights still linger within. So in this week's edition of Nick Groff Investigates, we look at the haunted history of the house, and the movie that brought it worldwide fame. Do you have any stories about The Conjuring house? If so, we'd love to hear them in the contents below!

The Conjuring House in Rhode Island has fascinated me since discovering the location back at an early age. At first, I thought a lot of what was said in the films and documentation to be accurate, but with anything, stories get twisted over time. Having met Andrea Perron and her family I was more intrigued by listening to them. I saw The Conjuring movie and liked it but thought the stories were over-exaggerated. I needed to learn more so I started researching.

Fast forward to the present time on an overcast, rainy Saturday, I had the opportunity to drive up to the location and meet the new owners. BTW amazing people!! Great conversation about the history, facts, and paranormal experiences. My passion has always been to discover new findings within the unknown. Walking into the property I could tell the energy felt different and heavier. I was curious about the rock formation in the backyard. I saw the flags for where the ground radar penetrating had hits. I spoke to the owner Cory for three hours just about the history and his experiences. I really fell in love with this location just by the mystery of trying to understand more about the land and what could possibly be buried there.

I’m excited to further investigate with some new equipment to try to discover what happened in the past, and some of these answers to the mysteries that have kept me thinking about the Conjuring House.
