AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. is taking a few weeks off of airing new episodes but that doesn’t mean there will be a break in the Marvel action on ABC. In fact, the network will be airing a special dedicated to taking us inside the big screen antics of everyone’s favorite superheroes with a one hour event called MARVEL STUDIOS: ASSEMBLING A UNIVERSE.
The special will showcase interviews and behind the scenes footage from all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films dating back to 2008’s IRON MAN. While at this point we likely have seen all of this information before in the special features on the numerous Blu-rays and DVDs for each movie, the real treat with this special will be the promise of new footage and information on the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY along with a “sneak peak” of THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.
It may be too early in shooting to see any finished sequences from Joss Whedon‘s sequel, but I would anticipate that we will at the very least get to see some mock-ups of some of the new characters in the film. Hopefully we get to see what Ultron will look like, but I am okay with just seeing some officially released goodness.
MARVEL STUDIOS: ASSEMBLING A UNIVERSE premieres March 18th on ABC. Check out the trailer below.
