The Los Angeles Film Festival is going on as we speak and this weekend THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE was there as part of the ceremonies. No, no silly, it wasn’t there to be screened, which is what 99% of other movies do. No, THE X-FILES is so super duper top-secret, they would only show a few minutes of the movie and then trot out the cast and crew for a little chat with the audience. One curious attendee asked why awareness is running so drastically low. Producer and co-writer Frank Spotnitz said Fox “assured us that by July 25 everyone will know about this movie.” That’s a lot of ground to make up in about a month, eh? I’m all for keeping some things hush-hush but isn’t this borderline ridiculous? Well, allow me to help. Below is an extended clip from the film shown at the Festival. It’s not the best quality, as you’d imagine, but it gives off a good sense of old school, X-FILES WTFness. OK so now we just have to get the rest of the world excited about this X-FILES movie…
