As announced back in April, a third series in the Walking Dead universe will soon be joining The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead on AMC. This one doesn't have a title yet, but we know that it's going to center on

two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.

Now we know the names of three actors who will be playing some of the show's young characters, all of them taking on "major roles".

Alexa Mansour, who appeared in UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB with a hole in her head, will be playing "a good-natured rule breaker who lives for today. She is likable and funny on the outside but sad on the inside."

Nicolas Cantu, who provides the voice of the title character for the animated series The Amazing World of Gumball, will be playing a kid who is "small for his age in addition to being friendly and an old soul. He also has a black belt in karate."

Hal Cumpston's only previous credit is as a character named Hal in the Australian comedy BILCHED, which he also wrote and produced. His character on this Walking Dead show will be "big for his age. He is a shy loner that scares some kids, but he hates the fact that he scares people."

This new show was co-created by Scott Gimple, the chief content officer of the Walking Dead universe who served as showrunner on The Walking Dead for several seasons, and Matt Negrete, a writer/producer on The Walking Dead for the past five seasons. Negrete will serve as showrunner on this one, with AMC Studios producing.

The first season will consist of 10 episodes, which will begin filming in Virginia this summer. It's expected to premiere on AMC sometime in 2020.

In addition to this show, other future Walking Dead projects include a trilogy of TV movies centered on Rick Grimes, and possibly a TV movie that will show The Walking Dead's Abraham crossing paths with Daniel from Fear the Walking Dead.
