Like most people my age, GRAND THEFT AUTO III was a revelation. It was the kind of game we'd always wanted, but didn't think was possible. You're telling me you can just walk around the city, doing what you want – up to, and including stealing cars, banging hookers, then killing the hookers to take back your money? It seems quaint now, but it was a game-changer, and the studio behind it – Rockstar Games – would keep refining and experimenting with the open-world formula ever since. This included the well-received cowboy-version of GTA, RED DEAD REDEMPTION in 2010 (technically a sequel to RED DEAD REVOLVER from '04).
Now, the trailer above doesn't show much new in terms of gameplay – save having a crocodile as an enemy and the use of a bow-and-arrow as a weapon. But it still looks damn fun, and while I've never been a big fan of Westerns, I do love the idea of playing one again.
Anyway, here's the official synopsis:
RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 follows the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.
So any other fans of RED DEAD REDEMPTION out there? And if so, how do you feel about the upcoming sequel? Either way, sound off below!
Meanwhile, RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 will ride onto consoles Spring 2018.
