I think Christmas and horror movies go together like chocolate and peanut butter. And it is with this in mind that I'm excited to finally check out the upcoming fright flick SICK FOR TOYS when it arrives. And speaking of the film, today we learned that Devilworks is representing International rights for the movie!
Not only that but today we have the film's new trailer and poster to share with you guys. The poster I feel is a particular treat in that it really reminds me of the classic 80's Christmas-set slashers of my childhood. I think this movie could really be something special so I'm keeping both eyes out for any and all news that comes in. I'll make sure to pass it along when I hear it, but until then check out the new trailer and poster below.
The film tells the story of
Roy, who accepts an invitation to have Christmas dinner with a beautiful and strangely alluring woman. Once at dinner, he realizes that his date and her oddball brother are not what they seem & he soon ends up fighting for his life.
Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions got the chance to see the film and had this to say about it:
The DP did fantastic work. I appreciated the restraint the director demonstrated. So many times, movies like this can go off the wall stylistically, but there was something very confident about the filmmaking and the performances that I liked. Good tension.
Jon Paul Burkhart (AMERICAN HORROR STORY) and David Gunning Executive produced and co-star in the film, along with Camille Montgomery, Melanie Thompson, Katie Wallace, Levi Ashlyn, Morgana Shaw, and HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT's Pinhead Paul T. Taylor. It's directed by David Del Rio and co-written by Justin Xavier and James Andrew Oster.
We'll let you know when we hear more!
